Q: What is Championship Fighting?

A: Championship Fighting is a circuit of Super Street Fighter II X auto qualifiers culminating in a final tournament in Dallas, Texas. The best players from events across North America will compete for cash prizes and travel awards.

Auto Qualifiers & Participation

Q: How do I qualify for the finals?

A: The winner of each official auto qualifier earns a travel award to the finals in Dallas (see travel restrictions below). You may participate in multiple auto qualifiers to increase your chances.

Q: Will there be a Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ)?

A: Yes. A Last Chance Qualifier will take place in Dallas shortly before the final tournament, giving players one final opportunity to qualify. Additional details, including format, schedule, and registration, will be announced closer to the event.

Q: What happens if the same player wins more than one auto qualifier?

A: If a player who has already qualified wins another auto qualifier, the travel award roll-down goes to the next highest-placing eligible player from that event.

Q: Can I participate in multiple auto qualifiers?

A: Yes, players are free to enter more than one auto qualifier.

Q: What is the entry fee?

A: Entry fees for auto qualifiers are determined by each event organizer. The entry fee for the final LCQ tournament in Dallas is $X (TBD).

A: The final tournament will take place at Free Play Arcade in Dallas, Texas.

Your tournament entry includes full access to the arcade venue, which features free play throughout the day. Food and beverages will be available for purchase on-site.

Travel Award Eligibility

Q: Who is eligible for the travel award?

A: Travel is currently restricted to players whose primary residence is in Mexico, the United States, or Canada.

Q: What if I qualify but can't attend the finals?

A: If a qualified player is unable to attend, the travel award will be offered to the next highest-placing eligible player at that auto qualifier.

Finals & Prize Pool

Q: What is the guaranteed prize pool at the finals?

The Finals prize pool will be built through a dedicated Matcherino campaign, with every contribution increasing the total purse awarded to the Top 3 (60/30/10). Milestone tiers, beginning at $1,000, will unlock exclusive rewards, merch, and additional community perks as the pool grows.

Q: Where does the cash prize come from?

A: The prize pool is funded through a Matcherino campaign held throughout the year.

Q: Can the prize pool increase?

A: Yes. If the Matcherino campaign exceeds the minimum goal, additional funds may be used to expand the prize pool or support tournament expenses.

Q: What can I get by contributing to the Matcherino campaign?

A: The campaign may include tiers with exclusive merchandise and memorabilia, such as the official tournament poster.
